Gone are the days when shopping with the girlfriends was the most exciting thing to do. People find it easier and less time consuming to shop online in order to get better deals, even though it’s not as much fun as actually walking around till your legs can’t carry you anymore
It turns out, you can even get online opinions for your outfits, shoes, bags, accessories …
It’s weird that the internet nowadays could potentially become a substitute for girlfriends’ opinions! Well, when it comes to it, nothing can replace my girls. So this whole online thing doesn’t work for me

I whine, he whines she whines and everyone keeps whining. We ( as in I don’t know who exactly ), whine through blogging, smsing, facebooking, e-mailing, foursquaring, twittering and the list goes on… But just now, I discovered there is a website especially for whining! All you do is whine anonymously about anything, read about other people’s whining and even comment on “whines”.. As if all the other social networks weren’t enough…
If you are interested in whining, or would like to read about other people’s whining, click here.

It all started as a rumor here in Dubai, but I guess it’s official now. DU, the telecommunication company in Dubai, sent out the email below to all the DU customers.
Dear Customers,
We have been notified on August 1st 2010 by an instruction from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of the UAE that certain BlackBerry services will be suspended starting October 11th, 2010.
BlackBerry Email, BlackBerry web browsing, social networking, and instant messaging services on BlackBerry devices that are supported as part of the BlackBerry service, will be suspended.
Customers will be able to continue using their BlackBerry devices for Voice, SMS, MMS and web browsing not using blackberry service as these services will remain unaffected. Other applications which do not use the BlackBerry services will also not be affected.
This is an important decision taken by the Telecommunications Regulatory authority and as a licensed telecom service provider we shall fully comply by this instruction.
Since a number of du customers are BlackBerry subscribers, du will ensure that it provides all its affected customers with an alternative solution that meets their needs with minimal disruption to their services.
In the coming days du will be making an announcement on the full plan and shall inform all customers on the implementation of this alternative plan.
As a reasonable service provider, we have an obligation to always act within the law and the regulations of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of the UAE, while at the same time, providing our customers with the best possible service.
We will update you regularly on the developments. You can also get further information through our website, call centre, du shops and via advertorials in leading newspapers.
Best Regards
du

A while ago, all the pictures I have ever owned in the past year suddenly vanished. I looked everywhere on my computer, and they are just not there! So, my husband and I took it to the Apple store, where they referred us to the service center who told us that it might take more than 10 days. So, we googled other computer tech places and we were surprised that the cost to do the job would be between 170$ to 350$ !
Anyway, to make a very long story short, we did some further googling and we finally found a software that can retrieve all missing files for only 69$. It lets you download a demo first, and then, if the missing files show up in the demo, you’ll need to buy it in order to retrieve.
Well, I found all my files and I am so happy… Next time you lose something on your computer, you won’t have to panic, here’s the link : http://www.diskdoctors.net/
Baked fries: the healthier choice.

I love making these oven baked fries as I am trying to cut down on deep fried food lately, plus, I hate seeing my kitchen splatter with oil. Apart from that, they are extremely easy to make! Don’t expect these baked fries to be a 100% substitute for the real French fries, these taste better! But it’s definitely a healthier choice for those potato lovers who want to avoid deep-frying fries.
This is the simplest and easiest recipe to make next to burgers, steak or even as a snack for dinner!
Here’s what you need:
- potatoes ( DUH!! )
- Oregano
- salt
- pepper
- paprika
- garlic powder
- garlic cloves
And here’s what you need to do :
- Preheat oven to 200°C
- Wash and cut potatoes into any shape you like. Soak into water and salt for 5 minutes to prevent them from turning dark.
- Once you dry the potatoes, season with all spices, then lay them on a baking tray lined with foil and put in the oven for 15 minutes
- Take the tray out after 15 minutes, add slices of garlic on top of the fries, then back again in the over for another 15 minutes.

I am not a fan of powerpoint, i find it a little bit complicated and a time consuming software. So this morning, while flipping through the Tv channels, I saw BBC playing a demo about something called Flixtime. Flixtime lets you upload pictures, add text and choose your background music.
Of course, I went to check it out, and here’s what I did in exactly 3 minutes! :
